Karina Zothner or the certainty of life
Chilean of Argentine roots and raised in Madrid. I live for more than 20 years in Tarifa, in love with the powerful and wild energy of the area. If there is one word that defines me, it’s Passion.
City girl, I grew up in Madrid and it wasn’t until I was 14 that I really got to know the smell of a farm. Born in Chile, from an Argentine family I came to Spain very small. Always with a pencil or brush in hand, always coloring the life of which my work and I form a single entity.
From the north of Asturias I was left with love for the sea, from Siberia Extremeña the certainty, that never abandons me, that life is a mystery, a gift and that the important thing, really, is the transit, the way.
Graduated in Fine Arts in Seville and I followed my journey to the South, that South full of light where I found the roots of my Being.
The intensity of life and things is reflected in my painting; abstract, visceral and passionate. Eclectic, curious, multidisciplinary; painting, collage, photo, video-art, performance... all language, support, language, matter that is useful to me in my expressive path I will use it without fear and without measure.
Mother, woman, creative, I have exhibited my works in the communities of Madrid, Valencia, Castilla - León, Andalusia and Asturias, in Mexico, USA and in different cities of Switzerland, Italy and Portugal. Some of my works are part of private collections in Switzerland, Lisbon, Oporto, Madrid, Cadiz, Seville, Malaga and Badajoz.
